Privacy & terms

How Top Roofing looks after your information, and the terms for using this website.

Privacy policy

Last updated 28 October 2026

This policy explains what personal information Top Roofing collects when you use toproofing.ie or contact us, why we collect it, and your rights over it under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Irish Data Protection Acts 1988 to 2018.

Who we are

Top Roofing is the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. You can contact us about your data at any time:

Information we collect

We only collect what we need to respond to you and carry out work on your property:

  • Contact details: your name, phone number and email address.
  • Property details: your address or Eircode, and details about your roof or the job.
  • Photos and messages you send us by WhatsApp, text or email.
  • Job and payment records: quotes, invoices and payments for work we carry out.
  • Website data: basic technical information such as your browser type and the pages you visit, collected through cookies (see Cookies).

How we use it and why

  • To reply to your enquiry, arrange a site visit and give you a quote. This is a step you ask us to take before entering into a contract.
  • To carry out and invoice the work you agree to. This is necessary to perform our contract with you.
  • To keep financial and tax records, which we are legally required to do.
  • To follow up on a quote or job, look after any issues afterwards and improve our service. This is in our legitimate interests as a business.
  • To send you occasional updates or offers, but only if you have agreed to this. You can withdraw that consent at any time.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for automated decision-making.

Who we share it with

We only share your information where we need to, with:

  • Service providers that run our website, forms and customer records, email and phone systems (for example our website and CRM platform, GoHighLevel).
  • Our accountant and professional advisers.
  • Our insurers, if needed for a claim, and your insurer if you ask us to provide photos or a report for your claim.
  • Public authorities, where the law requires it.

Some of our service providers store data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where this happens, we rely on safeguards approved under GDPR, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries that don't go ahead: up to 24 months, then deleted.
  • Customer, job and financial records: 6 years after the end of the tax year they relate to, as required by Irish tax law.
  • Marketing preferences: until you unsubscribe or ask us to stop.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete.
  • Ask us to delete your information, where we no longer need it or have no legal reason to keep it.
  • Object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use your information.
  • Ask for your information in a portable format.
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent.

To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will respond within one month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.

Cookies

Our website uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies. Some are needed for the site and contact forms to work. Others help us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work properly if you do.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.

Terms and conditions

Last updated 28 October 2026

These terms apply to your use of toproofing.ie. By using the website, you accept them.

Information on this website

The information on this website is general and is provided to help you understand our services. Every roof is different, so it is not a substitute for an inspection and a written quote. We do our best to keep the website accurate and up to date, but we can't guarantee it is free from errors.

Quotes and work

  • Site visits and quotes are free and there is no obligation to go ahead.
  • Prices, timelines and the scope of any job are set out in your written quote. Your written quote, and anything we agree with you in writing, takes priority over anything on this website.
  • Each quote states what is included and how long it is valid for.
  • Reviews, photos and examples of past work on this website are for illustration and don't form part of any agreement.

Emergency call-outs

We aim to respond to emergency calls as quickly as possible, but response times depend on demand, location and weather conditions. For your safety, never go onto a roof yourself.

Content and branding

The Top Roofing name, logo, text and photos on this website belong to Top Roofing and may not be copied or reused without our permission.

Our website may link to other websites, such as Google or Facebook. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those websites.

Liability

We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of this website or reliance on its content, except where the law does not allow us to limit liability. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and the Irish courts have jurisdiction over any dispute.
